Facets

Facets define the ways a system moves forward. Each one represents a distinct type of action that ensures progress is intentional rather than reactive. A system that only focuses on one or two Facets may function, but it won’t evolve effectively. To remain adaptable and efficient, a system must work through all six: Evaluate, Cultivate, Accelerate, Anticipate, Illuminate, and Cooperate.

Evaluate

The Evaluate Facet is about understanding the current state. It involves assessing conditions, identifying gaps, and determining what needs improvement. Without evaluation, adjustments are based on assumptions rather than reality.

Cultivate

The Cultivate Facet focuses on strengthening and refining. This is where a system improves its foundation, develops skills, and optimizes efficiency. Rushing ahead without Cultivation often leads to instability.

Accelerate

The Accelerate Facet expands capacity and increases momentum. Systems that don’t Accelerate stall, while those that do so without preparation risk failure.

Anticipate

The Anticipate Facet focuses on foresight. Systems must recognize potential risks and opportunities rather than reacting to them after the fact. A lack of anticipation leads to short-term thinking and missed possibilities.

Illuminate

The Illuminate Facet makes information clear and actionable. Without visibility, decision-making suffers. Whether tracking progress, communicating insights, or aligning efforts, a system must Illuminate its direction.

Cooperate

The Cooperate Facet ensures alignment. No system exists in isolation. Internal teams, external partners, and interconnected systems must work together effectively to sustain long-term success.

Facets in Balance

Each Facet plays a role in keeping a system adaptable. If one is missing, the system becomes inefficient:
  • Skipping Evaluate leads to uninformed decisions.
  • Neglecting Cultivate results in weak foundations.
  • Overemphasizing Accelerate without preparation causes breakdowns.
  • Ignoring Anticipate leaves a system vulnerable to disruption.
  • Failing to Illuminate leads to misalignment and confusion.
  • Weak Cooperate causes fragmentation and inefficiency.
A system that moves through all six Facets remains adaptable and effective.
